On a scorching 40-degree day, I found myself in a bottle shop, staring at the pre-mixed drinks fridge with the usual frustration.
I was on my way to a festival, craving something refreshing, but the options were anything but appealing.
The fridge was packed with cans, but every label I read left me disappointed—loaded with sugar, artificial sweeteners (which, let’s be honest, can be even worse), and flavourings that sounded like they belonged in a chemistry lab, not in a drink.
I’d been down this road too many times before, and I knew what was coming: fuzzy teeth and a weird aftertaste that would ruin the fun. All I wanted was something fresh and clean, made with real ingredients I could trust, that wasn’t just another boring vodka soda, but nothing came close.
I Googled ‘How to make a vodka soda more interesting’ (true story) That’s when the idea for Subtle Tea was born!
I started crafting my own Vodka Iced Tea recipe—one that balanced everything I loved: the clean taste of real loose-leaf tea, the freshness of real fruit, and the quality of top-shelf vodka, all without the artificial junk.
